The one that got away, part two

At some point last week, I had enough of waiting around for houses and decided to check apartments in Malmö. I found one on Föreningsgatan 63 and saw it last Sunday.

What a beaut! It had the high ceilings, the nice fishbone patterened wooden floors that went seamlessly through the three front rooms. This is the hallway looking toward the living room.

The diningroom window. God, don't you just love bay windows? The opening bid on this apartment, which is twice the size of where we live now, was half of what we pay now a month. So of course, I had to bid.

I don't have a shot of the best ceiling which was the living room, but this is the dining room.

The living room window overlooking a quiet church yard, which I hear is foggy most mornings, how goth romantic.... Plus, no neighbours! No buildings across the street to hog sunlight and house peeping toms. How great is that? The living room also had a larger balcony overlooking a quiet side street. This place was perfect! 4 rooms, bath and a kitchen. I could use another room for my office but thought this was too good to pass up.

New kitchen and small back balcony overlooking the yard.
So this was different, there was absolutely no renovation needed. But the kitchen and bath was nice and the apartment and the location great, so we bid on Monday. And got stuck in a bidding war that lasted until Wednesday afternoon by which time I bowed out. The whole bidding war was so stressful. I'm sure the winner appreciates the same features of this flat as we do, with the perfect floor and nice ceilings so I hope she's happy there. I just had my heart broken a little.....
