So, I've been told that Pall Mall will be discontinued around there parts. I've learned to say "Pall Mall please" in the various ways you need in order to get the ones you want around the world - except in London where you can't get them at all despite having a street named Pall Mall. I'd say "Pall Mall zonder filter" in Amsterdam, and "Pall Mall Plain" in upstate New York. Some people even say "Pall Mall Red".

Trying to confirm this news on the web, I kept stumbling onto old ads, and this one reminded me of every time some helpful person yelped at me "watch out, wrong end!" as they saw me light the 'branded' end of the cigarette. You can light both ends, explains the ad as a selling point of sorts. I called it "agent smoking".
- "Agent smoking?"
- "Yeah, back then everyone smoked filterless and secret agents would burn up the brand so that people didn't know it was their brand in the ashtray."

I probably made that up a long time ago, but I like the silly myth. ;)
